Terms of Service
Last updated: September 26, 2026
1. The service
Scandut (“the service”) is a free, browser-based tool for scanning documents from photos: page detection, perspective correction, image enhancement, text extraction (OCR) and export to image, PDF and document formats. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Free use, no account
The service is provided free of charge and does not require registration. We may show advertising to fund the service. Features may be added, changed or removed at any time without notice.
3. Your content stays yours — and stays with you
Photos you open and scans you create are processed entirely within your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. We claim no rights whatsoever over your documents. You are responsible for the content you scan and for how you use the results, including complying with copyright law and any restrictions that apply to the documents you process.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to facilitate forgery, fraud or any unlawful purpose — for example altering scanned documents to misrepresent them as originals. Automated bulk access that degrades the service for others is not permitted.
5. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Scan quality and OCR accuracy depend on your photos and device; recognized text may contain errors and should be reviewed before use in any context where accuracy matters. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the service, including lost data or decisions made based on OCR output.
6. Third-party services
The site uses Google Analytics and may display Google AdSense advertising. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; see our privacy policy for details.
7. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always available on this page. Questions about these terms can be sent to skawlsgus5@gmail.com.
